What Do I Do

Working with you to develop and grow your business

Non-Executive Director

As a Non-Executive Director (NED), I use my skills, knowledge and experience to act as an independent member of your Board, providing external expertise and oversight. I contribute to your strategy development, ensure good governance, and monitor risk management. As a NEDs, I play a role in appointing and evaluating executive management, represent stakeholder interests, review financial matters and offer an independent perspective on organisational operations. My primary goal is to contribute to your Organisation’s long-term success and sustainability by helping to guide strategic decisions and ensure adherence to best practice. NED commissions typically last for two to three years and generally involve between 12 and 24 days per year, depending on your board meeting cycle and any committees I am part of.

Independent Consultant/Advisor

Operating as an Independent Consultant/Advisor, I provide specialized expertise and guidance to you, your team and your Organisation. My role typically involves analyzing problems, providing recommendations, and implementing solutions tailored to your needs. Areas of work are wide and varied, such as strategic planning, process improvement, market research, or technical expertise. My role is to bring an objective viewpoint, drawing on my experience and knowledge to help you achieve your goals efficiently and effectively. Consultant commissions can vary widely in duration and are dependent upon the issue being addressed. A simple Strategic Plan Review may last just a week whilst an operational review of a procurement department (say) could last several months.

Interim Management

Interim Management is another area that I work in. The role of the interim manager is to provide temporary leadership and management expertise to your Organisation during periods of transition, crisis, or change. I am typically brought in to fill a gap in your leadership team due to reasons such as sudden departures, restructuring, or specific project needs. Responsibilities have included overseeing day-to-day operations, implementing strategic initiatives, managing teams, and driving organizational change. Interim Management roles are generally full time and of a longer duration, typically between six and 12 months.

Delivery Management (Program, Project, Commercial, Cost and Claims Management)

Whilst operating independently, over my career I have cultivated a wide and valuable network of like-minded professionals who share similar expertise and values. My network serves as a resource pool from which I can draw upon to enhance the scope and quality of services offered to you. I pull together teams of suitably skilled, qualified and experienced professionals that can manage your programs and projects across the entire project lifecycle. Delivery Management Teams generally operate across the project from cradle to grave and the duration can be several years.

Business Acquisitions and Disposals including Mergers

Operating as an Independent Consultant, I facilitate business acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers, helping companies such as yours to navigate complex transactions to achieve strategic growth and maximize value. I, and where appropriate through the utilization of my extensive network, offer expertise in identifying potential acquisition targets, conducting due diligence, negotiating terms, and facilitating the transaction process. Similarly, I assist companies in selling off non-core assets or divisions, optimizing your portfolio for better performance. Additionally, I provide guidance on merger strategies, assessing synergies, and integrating operations to create larger, more profitable entities.
